Martina McBride

I went to the Martina McBride concert last night. It was FANTASTIC!! I tell ya, her voice is a gift from God. What she can do, just can't be taught.

I REALLY enjoyed the concert---once we finally got there. My husband and I work in the same building so the plan was that we would ride to work together, head downtown afterwards, eat, then go to the concert (which started at 7:00). I called my daughter, Megan, around noon to see how she was feeling (she's been sick) and she starts crying, telling me how bad she felt (she's 17 and, typically, is pretty tough). I called the Dr.'s office and got a 3:30 appt. My husband had a mtg. from 3-4 so I take the car, head back to the house to pick up my daughter, go to the Dr. and we wait and wait and wait! Finally, they call us back around 4:45 and he diagnoses her with atypical pneumonia. We head to Walgreens where they took FOREVER to fill the scrips and insurance wouldn't cover everything (aarrgghh!) I take Megan home, dope her up, get her settled in and struggle with the guilt of leaving her. She assures me she would just sleep. I drive back to the office to get the hubby and head to the concert. By this time there's no time to eat so we head downtown to the concert site. All parking is $5-$10. We discover that, between the 2 of us, we have $3 in cash and none of the parking attendants will take a debit card. So.......we find an ATM, park, walk and finally make it to our seats just in time for the opening act. Didn't take long to realize that I left the camera in the car. Darn!! They won't let you back in the bldg. if you leave so the only pictures I have were taken with my cell phone. (I may try to post some later)

All things considered, we had a great time and, like I said, Martina was amazing. If you're a fan and she's in your area you should definitely try to see her. Even my husband, whose a man of few words and said, "Martina who?" when I mentioned going said, "WOW!" at the end of the concert.

I haven't been to a concert since Dave Matthews in 1998. Glad you had a fun time!

I love Martina McBride! Your experience sounds like something that would happen to me except it would be my luck that we wouldn't make it all. The last concert we actually made it to was George Strait in 1993.

Hope your daughter gets better soon.
