I think he's gotten too big for his britches and was borderline cruel to Kail. Not that I like Kail, but I didn't like Evil's attitude either. I was glad to see Danielle try to reel him in. I used to think Nick was pretty easy on the eyes, but he's getting uglier by the minute. He seems so stuck-up and I think he's definitely playing Danielle. He'll probably drop her like a hot potatoe outside of the house. How stupid is Mike? Yeah, I guess it was admirable to stick by Kail and she needed someone to throw her a bone, but he dug his own grave. I think he stuck by Kail more because he didn't like Evil bullying her than out of loyalty to Kail. Guess you gotta like him for that. I'm a Wal Mart and Target girl, but he's been wanting to go to the mall to check out some popular stores like, American Eagle, Aeropostle (sp?) and Abercrombie. I figured these stores would be expensive so I told him we could look, but probably wouldn't be buying. Turns out that AE and Aeropostle were having good sales, plus, if you tried on a pair of jeans at Aeropostle you got an instant coupon just for trying them on. So, Matthew got a few new things and really thinks he's "stylin" now. He had a B.D. party to go to tonight (for a girl...) so he was excited to have something cool to wear.

Breakfast - fruit and 2 strips of bacon (4 pts.)
Lunch - Lots of samples at Sam's (too many pts.)
Snack - A slab of "Cure 81" ham that I stuffed in my mouth mindlessly while fixing Matthew a quick ham and cheese sandwich (4 pts.)
Supper - Ham and scalloped potatoes, green beans and corn on the cob (10 pts.)
TOTAL - I don't know. This father and daughter have been estranged and I was hoping time in the house would bring them closer. It cracks me up when Jen and Amber start crying. I love watching that blonde, cheerleader girl. Talk about an airhead, but she makes me laugh. Eric's my favorite guy in the house.

Okay, the weirdest thing happened. I leaned against the corner of a bookcase for about 20 minutes while talking to someone at work. Afterwards, I noticed that the top of my hand and wrist were numb. After about an hour of numbness I kinda start to worry that maybe I'm having a stroke or something?!? Folks at work put me through the typical tests - smile, what's your birthday, move your fingers. I passed all, but still feeling didn't return and I couldn't type. I went to the Dr. and he said I pinched a nerve. Crazy, huh?!? It's been a day and a half and I think the feeling's trying to come back. Typing is slow in the meantime. What a dumb thing to happen. It was FANTASTIC!! I tell ya, her voice is a gift from God. What she can do, just can't be taught.

I REALLY enjoyed the concert---once we finally got there. My husband and I work in the same building so the plan was that we would ride to work together, head downtown afterwards, eat, then go to the concert (which started at 7:00). I called my daughter, Megan, around noon to see how she was feeling (she's been sick) and she starts crying, telling me how bad she felt (she's 17 and, typically, is pretty tough). I called the Dr.'s office and got a 3:30 appt. My husband had a mtg. from 3-4 so I take the car, head back to the house to pick up my daughter, go to the Dr. and we wait and wait and wait! Finally, they call us back around 4:45 and he diagnoses her with atypical pneumonia. We head to Walgreens where they took FOREVER to fill the scrips and insurance wouldn't cover everything (aarrgghh!) I take Megan home, dope her up, get her settled in and struggle with the guilt of leaving her. She assures me she would just sleep. I drive back to the office to get the hubby and head to the concert. By this time there's no time to eat so we head downtown to the concert site. All parking is $5-$10. We discover that, between the 2 of us, we have $3 in cash and none of the parking attendants will take a debit card. So.......we find an ATM, park, walk and finally make it to our seats just in time for the opening act. Didn't take long to realize that I left the camera in the car. Darn!! They won't let you back in the bldg. if you leave so the only pictures I have were taken with my cell phone. (I may try to post some later)

All things considered, we had a great time and, like I said, Martina was amazing. If you're a fan and she's in your area you should definitely try to see her. Even my husband, whose a man of few words and said, "Martina who?" when I mentioned going said, "WOW!" at the end of the concert.Melodyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03429849333413636566noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1814198477642153720.post-9157033452962778482007-07-10T19:21:00.000-05:002008-12-11T20:57:59.796-06:00Little People Big World<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz7rQIexcluJtOoYfn1zZHCYBoJhs8y8j-21Rlsk_MNvw64CSOECE0ykL0e2fMCYjEuUG_qR7zd0mMPDoBkroR-tLWlufk4zTDa3xB0LYLpbKiSGINXuycgq8EvgnUfBQ-ySleL_2Eb2vY/s320/63I0CAON0E99CAEVETG2CAA0YHBGCAI2477GCAX291O8CARPPVHMCAOI8713CAU81YNUCA8P6XHYCAEFIB2DCAAEMUJSCAGB0TX8CATA308NCAELWD6UCAUIDLP1CAP6RKQKCA2W9WVCCAO9UL32CAQGJX14.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5085728300893124930" />
I just watched Little People Big World, the episode where Amy's invited to give a speech at her old University. Amy gave a great speech and seems to have a gift for public speaking. The camera went to her family in the audience a few times and both of her parents were wiping tears. So, of course, then I had to start crying too. It was a good episode.Melodyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03429849333413636566noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1814198477642153720.post-12346931525562459932007-07-09T22:18:00.000-05:002008-12-11T20:58:00.003-06:00My Tea's Not Working!<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivyrPmfdxh4l19OwjY14zCs-C-NZp00ihzIcubcyOrgEiJVw9-KHANowAlObpDEA8r6yamP7wGgunzcCo6r00X5vSyrVIMo221-E3WwQujl1Kz723lJRBjrsxcRlEBZTGxhlNU-8RYa1LO/s320/K0JZCAWXJARBCA2OTQIRCAINWVP4CA005W61CARBZUFOCAI9BZBUCAO73OUBCA8SAYDTCATBPJHPCAWRSFQ7CAYRWHP9CA8270N5CAEMFXE6CAAODEOFCAA3GYRGCA3QNO43CAUK134VCAPQ5JCNCAYM5HVM.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5085405336532334898" />
Okay, I know I said I'd be happy with maintaining my weight this week, but I lied. I really wanted to loose despite the fact I cheated. Remember, I'm drinking a special tea so I figured that was my "ace in the hole". Well..... apparently, the stupid tea wasn't the miracle drink I had hoped for because I gained 0.6! Aaarrgghh!! I know I cheated some, but I HOPED the tea would save me. Well, I'm off the tea kick. I'll finish my supply, but that's it! Guess I'll have to rely more heavily on healthy habits and will power. I HATE that! I need a magic pill!

Okay, sorry about the vent session. The twist this year is they surprised houseguests by adding "the last person you want to see" to the house. There's an ex-friend, ex-boyfriend and an estranged father/daughter. I feel kinda sorry for the estranged daughter. Should be interesting to see how things play out.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh730xBsfFFGARP3wjKmK6CKrXGfryBsJ-wpLW9Cpto7DutdXQ-_zpkGB3VKSc3uIcpX6AVU_GziZ-opdOVIKbNu03osj7QSbmFCvRmEle-WIC-BcwYa_Ubhs4ljMLn0C9Ko0pLXPcB-Txf/s320/6X5VCAECVLEBCA429FVYCAXPQDAUCAAHAEKMCA7LEM5YCAO0VSXKCAKHT5KICA4KJ3U4CA3GRDDMCA6O9D8YCAZKHJG6CAUDE2MJCA6WDY14CAPVRMIOCAGQHNS4CAKCM3S5CAS20IF6CAO41UDJCAPXKJ2Z.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5084811986800392466" /> Went to see the movie, Evening. It was okay. Not as good as I expected. Basically, this lady is on her death-bed, her daughter's are on death-watch and the Mom keeps talking out of her head about people the daughters have never heard of. Lots of flashbacks to Mom's life as a young girl and her true love that got away. Pretty much an all-star cast. It's a "renter".

The rain in my part of Oklahoma has FINALLY stopped. I think it rained for 18 or 19 days straight. You should of heard all the lawn mowers (including ours) in the neighborhood yesterday. Everyone's yard practically needs a brush-hog cause everything's so overgrown. Mosquitos are horrible!! But, on the bright side, all the grass is very green and just beautiful once you get it mowed.

My husband and son mowed and edged while I worked in the flower beds for about five hours yesterday. It's RIDICULOUS how out of shape I am. I tell ya, the back of my legs are killing me this morning! I've got to get to the gym.

My daughter's been sick for a few days (fever, achey, nausea). We missed church this a.m. because I wanted her to sleep in. I hope she feels better when she wakes up (and I hope the rest of us don't get it).

My son's going to a birthday party today where he'll ride go-carts that go up to 45 mph. I wish I could go!!! While he's gone I've got to finish laundry and get him packed for a week because he's going to church camp. As soon as he gets home from the party I'll run him to camp.

I weigh-in at WW tomorrow night. I've been kind of "off and on" about tracking points so I'll be happy if I maintain.Melodyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03429849333413636566noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1814198477642153720.post-67924804261686140072007-07-05T21:37:00.000-05:002008-12-11T20:58:00.604-06:00I've Got To Stop Celebrating!<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi805KEQ0MwDciAHreMDo9XkAk45P3F9mNVoMe0AwJ0J1aKhORDXJwxNL47iMkfWVSqrUaAqtqUcTldfeaSPTVOXvFXU2n4v5FE3EvQOnxm4PjKFT9cuKwpWb4TGzkjtF9m6I_7VI3DgRmB/s320/images.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5083909103070394626" />
Celebrated 4th of July with family and friends yesterday. Had a good time, but ate too much. I started out the day pretty well. Thought about skipping lunch, knowing that I'd have a big meal with the family that night. But, I decided I should eat something so I didn't get too hungry and really overeat during supper. I had a 4 pt. grilled chicken wrap for lunch, 15 baked Tostitos scoops (love those things!) and salsa for lunch. For supper my Dad grilled steak, pork chops and chicken on the grill. Mom made corn on the cob, baked potatoes, grilled zuchini and salad. I had steak, baked potato, corn and salad. I used "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" spray, fat free sour cream, fat free dressing, etc. So.....made it through supper without totally blowing it (portions were a little big, but it was a holiday you know). Then, we made snow cones. Again, I did okay cause I made mine with sugar free flavoring. The day's almost over when my Mom remembers that she bought this beautiful 4th of July cake just for us. Now, my Mom has celiac sprue (gluten allergy) and can't eat cake. My Dad has sugar diabetes and shouldn't eat cake. So, when Mom says she bought this special cake just for us, she really did. Honestly, I really didn't even want the cake because it was white cake. I like white, but it's not cheat worthy. Chocolate is definitely cheat worthy. Anyway, here was this big white cake with only a few of us to enjoy a piece. I ate a small piece just because I didn't want to hurt Mom's feelings. This probably wouldn't be a big deal for most, but for me, if I fall off the wagon and get that taste for real sugar again I start to crave it. So.....today's been hard. I just ate two fudgesicles, two WW chocolate caramel (2 pt.) bars and one pkg. of 100 calorie chocolate Hostess cupcakes. Now I feel sick. Hopefully, I've got it out of my system and will refocus tomorrow.Melodyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03429849333413636566noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1814198477642153720.post-41555345665770482632007-07-04T08:27:00.000-05:002008-12-11T20:58:00.760-06:00Tide To Go

Have you ever tried the "Tide To Go" pen? I’m not sure if I can attribute the loss entirely to the tea because I did better about staying within my point range. My appetite’s a little more curbed and I feel slightly more energetic, just enough boost to get me started exercising again.

I’m going to finish my month’s supply of tea and then I’ll decide if I want to order more. If I consistently loose 2 lbs. or more a week, I’ll probably continue with Wu-Long. If not, I may switch to green tea (it’s cheaper) and keep trying to work the WW plan. I read green teas good for you and I really just wanted to try Wu-Long to give me a push in the right direction.Melodyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03429849333413636566noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1814198477642153720.post-67165306454067013722007-07-01T19:54:00.000-05:002007-07-01T20:31:36.393-05:00You Lookin' at Me?1. Describe to me the very first handmade *gift* your eyes run by that was made for YOU from one of your children. Then, tell me why you have it displayed where you do.
My daughter made the pencil holder in the kitchen. It's a can painted blue with a snowman on the front. It's been in the same spot for years even when out of season, just because I think it's cute, useful and makes me think of her.

2~ Looking back on our childhood, we all can remember something we *always* wanted as a kid, but just never got. What is the one thing you can still remember to this day that you never had the *joy* of receiving? I had a garage sale, B&W TV with foil on the antennae and broken dial in my room. Had to use pliers to change channels. Always wanted a new color TV. Maybe that explains why there are now 5 TV's in my house?

3~ What is one phobia that you have that others may find silly? I'm not talking fear of snakes. I mean *silly*, as in, others just don't get why on earth you're scared of *that*? Thanks to the movie, Sixth Sense, I always think there's someone under my bed that will grab my feet when I get up at night.

4~ Name one saying that you made up out of the blue. Nobody in the general public would know what you meant by it but your family is all too aware of exactly what you mean when the words spout out. "Laundry and dishes!"

5~ You have the power to grant one miracle to someone outside of your own family. This miracle can not be frivolous. Who would you grant this miracle to. What would the miracle be? How would you go about granting it? This is easy - heal Isabelle

Melodyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03429849333413636566noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1814198477642153720.post-35585249586437590192007-04-17T06:55:00.000-05:002007-04-17T07:14:52.297-05:00Thanks to those who sent me the nice welcome messages! Thanks especially to Annie for fancying (is that a word?) up my blog! I can tell that blogging could get addictive, but that's okay. There are definitely worse things to be addicted to, right? Oprah says that keeping a journal is a good thing and blogging is kind of an on-line journal so I'm going to consider blogging a healthy thing to do.

I joined Weight Watchers last night. I've lost a lot of weight over the last few years and have managed to keep it off until recently. Last week I got a WW coupon in the mail for free registration. I decided that was a sign that I really need to get the scale moving in the right direction again. My home scale weighs 5 pounds lighter than the WW scale so it was a little sobering to see my # last night.

Uh oh, it's 7:13 a.m.!! I need to get ready for work and take my son to school........
